Description
Viola Odorata from the Naudin Ferrand winery is a French red wine from three plots in the municipalities of Corgoloin, two “En Vireville” plots and one “En Fontenelles” plot. A Pinot Noir born on clayey-calcareous soils.
Tasting notes
In the glass, Naudin Ferrand's Viola Odorata shows bright red reflections and is distinguished by its rich aromas of bitter cherries balanced by woody and toasted notes. In the mouth it is a blend of sweetness, freshness and fleshiness, with melted tannins and moderate acidity
Processing
Following the amnual harvest, the grapes are sorted and placed in whole vats for 14 days with some punching down. The wine then matures in 67% new barrels and finally vinified with a minimum dose of sulfur. Naudin's Viola Odorata represents a beautiful expression of its terroir.
The cellar
The Naudin Ferrand domaine was founded by Claire Naudine, passionate about viticulture, who, even without any organic or biodynamic certification, approaches sustainable viticulture. Sulfur is not used during the production, except in the bottling phase to guarantee the stability of the wine. Two AOCs produced by the company that represent the new frontier.
