Schweizer of the Franz Haas winery is a fresh and fruity red wine produced only in the best vintages from Pinot Noir grapes in purity .

    Tasting notes

In the Schweizer glass by Franz Haas it has a ruby red color, on the nose the bouquet is rich in complex and layered aromas of fruit including berries and cherries , spicy notes such as pepper and leather . On the palate we find the same sensations felt on the nose with enveloping tannins and a harmonious body that gives longevity to this red. Excellent with game dishes such as pheasant and duck or braised game, red meats and aged cheeses.

After the manual harvest which takes place in the first ten days of October, the grapes are de-stemmed and softly pressed. The vinification takes place in open tanks in which the must ferments in contact with the skins undergoing frequent pumping over and punching down. Subsequently the wine ferments in steel where the malolactic takes place . Finally, the Schweizer matures for 12 months before being bottled and then rests for a year in the bottle .

    The cellar

The Franz Haas winery was founded in 1880 and is considered one of the oldest and most important wineries in South Tyrol. Maximum respect for the environment and for the vines give rise to bottles able to excite with its typical aromas of the mountain area. The choice to use a screw cap is a quality choice made to guarantee the customer a wine not altered by cork, which can be stored longer. Franz Haas' bottle labels are designed by the famous artist Riccardo Schweizer.
