Description

Rum Abuelo Gran Reserva 12 Años is a soft spirit from the Varela Hermanos distillery, which matures in the tropical climate of Panama.

Tasting notes

Amber in color, this Rum Abuelo has complex and layered aromas on the nose, alternating dried fruit and nutmeg leaving a background of woody notes . In the mouth it is full-bodied, very deep and complex, finally it closes with a perfect balance.

Processing

The distillation of this Rum is carried out with four column stills . Finally, the distillate obtained is aged for twelve years in American oak barrels which previously contained Bourbon.

The distillery

The distillery was founded in 1908 by Don José Varela Blanco, initially it was the first sugar refinery in the Republic of Panama, and later transformed into Varela Hermanos which today is the leader in the distillates industry of Panama. At the head of the company we now find the third generation of the family, able to combine the best of modern technologies with the classic traditions of the territory. Absolute quality products that carry different brands including: Rum Abuelo, Seco Herrerano liqueur, Gin “Caballito”, Vodka “Stanislav” and others.
