The Pinot Nero from the Castello della Sala dei Marchesi Antinori estate is a red wine produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. A multifaceted and complex wine, a symbol of the refinement and elegance of the cellar.

    Tasting notes

The Pinot Nero Castello della Sala is ruby red in color with good brightness. Its scent opens up to fruity flavors of cherry, currant, raspberry and berries, which combine with a floral bouquet with a spicy background. The body is of medium softness and savory minerality. The finish is persistent with tones of aromatic herbs and earthy sensations.

After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and softly pressed, then the must obtained is cold macerated in small steel tanks for about 3 days. Subsequently, the first part of the alcoholic fermentation takes place which ends in French barriques, in which the malolactic fermentation is also carried out. The maturation also takes place in the same, which lasts about 10 months. Finally, the Pinot Nero Castello della Sala rests for a final period in the cellars of the castle.

    The Cellar

The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine Art of the Vinattieri. Through 26 generations, the Antinori family has always managed this business directly, making innovative and sometimes courageous choices, and always maintaining the respect for traditions and for the territory unchanged. Today the company is managed by the Marquis Piero Antinori, with the support of the three daughters all personally involved in the business activities. A path made of tradition, passion and intuition: the Antinori Marquises have established themselves as one of the main Italian wine producers.
