Description
Orvieto San Giovanni della Sala by Antinori is a white wine that comes from the vineyards of Castello della Sala from the union of the native Grechetto and Procanico grapes with those of Pinot Bianco and Viognier.
Tasting notes
In the glass Orvieto San Giovanni della Sala it has a pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose gives off notes of tropical fruit enriched with light mineral sensations . In the mouth it is balanced and with good sapidity , it closes on a persistent finish of yellow pulp fruit. Ideal in combination with fish dishes and fresh cheeses.
Processing
After harvesting, the grapes are vinified separately and part of the must is cold macerated in contact with the skins for 6 hours. After the union of the two musts, the product obtained is transferred to steel, where the alcoholic fermentation takes place, subsequently the wine remains on the yeasts before being assembled and bottled.
The Cellar
The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine Art of the Vinattieri. Through 26 generations, the Antinori family has always managed this business directly, making innovative and sometimes courageous choices, and always maintaining the respect for traditions and for the territory unchanged. Today the company is managed by the Marquis Piero Antinori, with the support of the three daughters all personally involved in the business activities. A path made of tradition, passion and intuition: the Antinori Marquises have established themselves as one of the main Italian wine producers.
