Tasting Notes

In the glass, the Maurus di Vie di Romans has an intense ruby red color, the nose offers fruity scents reminiscent of dark plums and ripe berries. It also gives notes that recall sweet spices and slightly vegetal nuances. The taste is soft and warm with excellent persistence. Excellent to combine with second courses of red meat, game and aged cheeses.

After the grapes are harvested manually, they are left to macerate for 22 days and then subjected to punching down and delestage. Fermentation lasts 10 days and takes place in stainless steel vats. The Maurus di Vie di Romans rests for 18 months in barriue and another 8 months in steel. Finally, a further refinement takes place in the bottle for 15 months.

The Cellar

Vie De Romans is the winery owned by the Gallo family, founded in the early 1900s, the winery takes its name from its position located along an ancient Roman road. What still distinguishes the company today is the search for ever greater quality that has made it a model in the panorama of Italian winemaking. Thanks to the composition of the soil and the climatic conditions, the cultivation of white vines is privileged, but there are also excellent reds in their production.
