Description

Le Difese della Tenuta San Guido is a Bordeaux-style red wine born in the Bolgheri area from a skilful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese.

Tasting notes

At sight Le Difese della Tenuta San Guido shows a ruby red color. The nose has shades of red fruit such as black currant , blackberry and cherry that intersect with notes of chocolate and aromatic herbs . On the palate it is of excellent structure , soft and with a pleasantly fresh drink . It goes perfectly with typical Tuscan dishes but is also excellent with risotto and red and white meats.

Processing

After the manual harvest, the grapes are softly pressed and de-stemmed. Then a first fermentation takes place in stainless steel without adding external yeasts. Subsequently, maceration on the skins takes place with subsequent pumping over and deléstage. the malolactic fermentation is also carried out in steel and after this operation Le Difese refines in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Tenuta San Guido is a historic winery located in the Bolgheri area and boasts ninety hectares of vineyards, 75 of which are dedicated exclusively to the production of Sassicaia. The name of the estate derives from that of San Guido della Gherardesca. In addition to Sassicaia, the winery produces other excellent quality labels that have become symbols of Italian excellence in the world.
