Description

Amaro Jefferson comes from the union of raw materials of Calabrian origin such as: bergamot , bitter and sweet oranges , rosemary , eucalyptus , oregano and other bitter herbs. A natural and authentic amaro but also intense and refined that has received great recognition . Ideal for an evening of relaxation and mixing with bitters or vermouth.

Tasting notes

The Jefferson has an amber color, with dark reflections. The nose releases very intense aromas of officinal herbs, wild herbs , orange , citrus peel and finally hints of soft spices . On the palate it is warm with a long sip , opens on sweet notes and closes with fresh and slightly bitter notes.

The distillery

The Vecchio Magazzino Doganale was born with the creation of the amaro Jefferson in 1871, during the historic period of the Belle Epoque. Ancient recipes that are reborn in Ivano Trombino who produces liqueurs in an artisanal way, with vibrant flavors obtained from natural botanicals from Calabria. The story of this distillery and of the Jefferson bitter is very curious and compelling, three Americans Jefferson, Gil and Roger arrive in the province of Cosenza following a shipwreck, take refuge in a shop known as Vecchio Magazzino Doganale. Fascinated by the beauty of the area and its wonderful botanicals, they decided to create a mix of herbs and spices thus giving life to the amaro Jefferson.
