The Vistamare Ca 'Marcanda of the Gaja winery is a white wine made from Vermentino and Viognier grapes. Born in the splendid vineyards of Bolgheri, here the temperate climate is perfect for two Mediterranean vines such as Vermentino and Viogner.

    Tasting Notes

In the glass, the Vistamare di Gaja has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet is rich and intense with floral aromas, aromas of citrus peel, yellow fruit, peach, apricot, tropical and herbal nuances. On the palate it is fresh, with juicy, ripe and pleasant fruit. At the table it goes very well with a seafood menu.

It is a perfect wine to drink immediately, but it can evolve well if kept in the cellar for a maximum of 3-4 years.

After the harvest, the two varieties are vinified separately, with fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for the Vermentino and in wood for the Viogner. The first rests in steel, while the second matures in the French oak barrique. At the end of the six months of aging, the VIstamare di Gaja is bottled and then remains for a few months in the cellar before being put on sale.

    The Cellar

The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 and immediately established itself as one of the symbolic wineries of the region. It was founded by Giovanni Gaja and subsequently passed under the control of his son Angelo. The latter immediately invested in the pursuit of the highest quality. Tradition and innovation have led Gaja to establish itself on the entire world scene with products capable of enhancing the wine quality of Piedmont and more generally of made in Italy in the world.
