Gaia's Gaia & Rey Chardonnay is a Piedmontese white wine of great depth produced from 100% Chardonnay grapes. This elegant white with a strong personality is dedicated to the two women of the Piedmontese winery: Gaia, the eldest daughter of the family and her grandmother, Clotilde Rey.

Tasting Notes

The Gaja & Rey Chardonnay comes in a beautiful golden color in the glass. On the nose there are enveloping hints of pineapple, bananas, oranges and then again aromatic and smoked herbs. The taste is rich, fresh and enveloping but also soft with a long persistence. It is recommended to decant one hour before consumption, ideal to accompany pasta with vegetable sauce, pasta with fish with tomato, vegetable risotto and stewed white meats

Processing

The grapes that come from vines with an average age of around 40 years of age, after being carefully selected, are fermented in barrique. Subsequently the Gaja & Rey Chardonnay ages, 12 months in barrique and finally 6 months in bottle.

The Cellar

The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 in Barbaresco, in Piedmont, in the heart of the Langhe wine growing area. It immediately established itself as one of the symbolic wineries of the region. It was founded by Giovanni Gaja and subsequently passed under the control of his son Angelo. The latter immediately invested in the pursuit of the highest quality. Tradition and innovation have led Gaja to establish itself on the entire world scene with products capable of enhancing the wine quality of Piedmont and more generally of made in Italy in the world.
