Description
The Friulano of the Livon winery is a white wine that comes from 100% Tocai Friulano grapes from vines located in Dolegna del Collio. Here the vineyards rest on marl and clay soils. It is a wine characterized by a longevity of 10-15 years.
Tasting notes
In the glass, Friulano di Livon has a straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of peach leaves and nutmeg . In the mouth it is soft characterized by an aftertaste of bitter almond . It goes very well with soups, Italian appetizers, white meats in delicate sauces and salted fish, also excellent to accompany soft cheeses.
Processing
After a careful selection, the grapes are harvested manually and taken to the cellar where they are pressed into whole bunches . The must obtained is decanted for 24 hours in a stainless steel tank and then divided into equal parts, half is put in the steel tanks and the rest in Hungarian oak barrels in which alcoholic fermentation takes place. After 8 months of aging in barrique , Livon's Friulano is bottled and finally put on sale. The cellar
The Livon company was born in 1964 from the passion and love of Dorino Livon for its territory. Today Livon is led by the third generation of the family with two separate cellars one for the vinification of red grapes and the other for white ones. Recently the winery has become a set of several companies that collaborate to produce high quality wines always keeping in mind the love for the Friulian territory.
