Description
Etna Rosso "Passorosso" comes from vines that are between 70 and 100 years old, located on the slopes of Etna. We are talking about a balanced wine with a fresh and vertical fruit able to represent the history of its territory with excellence.
Tasting notes
Etna Rosso "Passorosso" in the glass shows an intense ruby red which accompanies, on the nose, pleasant fruity and spicy notes, with a finish of undergrowth. On the palate it is savory, elegant and soft.
Processing
Etna Rosso "Passopisciaro" is born from the fermentation of the grapes for 15 days and then undergoes aging in large oak barrels for 18 months.
The Cellar
Passopisciaro is the Sicilian winery from which the concept of "wines of the Etna districts" was born, developed by Andrea Franchetti. The winery takes its name from the place where it is located or Passopisciaro, a hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia. At the beginning of the 2000s Andrea began to understand that different altitudes, lava lands and microclimates gave life to wines with unique characteristics, endowed with a lot of elegance and minerality, not classifiable as generic Etna wines.
