Cristal is the most famous wine of the Roederer maison, a blend produced exclusively in the "great vintages", when the maturity of the chardonnay (about 45%) and pinot noir (55%) is perfect, the Champagne Cristal Louis Roederer is characterized from an innate freshness and minerality of the best crus of the Marne. An immense and heavenly Champagne.
In the glass, Cristal by Louis Roederer has a brilliant straw yellow color with slightly amber reflections. Its perlage is delicate but fine and persistent. The nose has a very broad bouquet, rich in candied fruit, lily and freshly toasted dried fruit. On the palate it has a juicy and full-bodied structure but at the same time soft and creamy. A perfect harmony even in closing.
The fermentation of Louis Roeder's Cristal Champagne takes place for 80% in steel and 20% in wood. Malolactic fermentation is carried out only for 20%. dThis champagne is aged for 72 months on the lees and 8 months in the bottle following disgorgement
The maison was founded in 1776 in Reims, and boasts a property of almost 240 hectares, divided between the three best Champagne crus. The company is constantly improving and always strives for excellence in its elegant wines. The Louis Roederer winery is also famous for having invented the Cristal, this product was created to meet the requests of the Russian Tsars Nicholas I and Alexander II, eager to receive a supply of Champagne in pure crystal bottles.
Thanks to the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the family, the maison became the official supplier of many monarchies and noble dynasties all over the world, building the fame it still retains.
