Tasting notes

Champagne Louis Roederer Collection 242 is presented in a straw yellow glass crossed by golden reflections and persistent bubbles. On the nose there are varied aromas including hints of yellow peach, mango and candied citron, hazelnut, brioche bread and chalk. In the mouth it has a lively freshness.

This Louis Roederer champagne is an assembly of base wines made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, with the addition of 34% reserve wines from 6 different harvests, aged in wood. Finally, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle and subsequently the champagne rests on the lees for at least 4 years before disgorging.

The cellar

The maison was founded in 1776 in Reims, and boasts a property of almost 240 hectares, divided between the three best Champagne crus. The company is constantly improving and always strives for excellence in its elegant wines. The Louis Roederer winery is also famous for having invented the Cristal, this product was created to satisfy the requests of the Russian Tsars Nicholas I and Alexander II, eager to receive a supply of Champagne in pure crystal bottles.
Thanks to the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the family, the maison became the official supplier of many monarchies and noble dynasties all over the world, building the fame it still retains.
