Description
Carmignano Riserva di Piaggia is a Tuscan wine, born from the union of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This wine is the modern interpretation of Carmignano and express the characteristics of the territory.
Tasting Notes
Carmignano Riserva di Piaggia has an intense and deep ruby red color. Its scent is reminiscent of ripe fruit, cassis and raspberry, with hints of tobacco, chocolate and sweet spices. Its taste is enveloping and of great structure. It is a wine of great elegance, full-bodied and intense with a good persistence. Furthermore, Carmignano Riserva is able to age for many years without changing its organoleptic qualities.
Processing
After manual harvesting, the grapes are vinified separately in small containers. The Spontaneous fermentation takes place, without selected yeasts, in contact with the skins while the malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, here the wine rests for at least 18 months. Finally, the Carmignano Riserva ages for at least 6 months in the bottle before being put on the market.
The Cellar
A family that has always carried on love and passion for wine and for the territory. The Piaggia company, since the mid-70s, has been producing quality wines that have been the subject of awards in recent years. Their production of red wines always aims for excellence, through meticulous processes. The processing of the grapes follows a philosophy of maximum respect for the environment and ecosystem, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Poggio de 'Colli, Il Sasso and Pietranera, examples of Piaggia labels that tell the best enological essence of the lands of Carmignano.
