Description
Quintarelli Giuseppe's Cabernet Alzero is one of the best red wines in Italy and in the world. It comes from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Its name originates from a small portion of land, located next to the estate of the company that has been enhanced in order to create a true excellence of Venetian and Italian enology. The exposure of the vineyards to the west gives this wine its organoleptic characteristics.
Tasting Notes
Quintarelli's Cabernet has an impenetrable red color and the nose has very complex spicy hints of dried fruit, cocoa and vanilla. The taste is powerful and very persistent with a flavor of jam and very ripe fruit.
Processing
After the grape harvest which takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September, the pressing takes place, then the grapes fermented for 50 days in contact with the yeasts. Finally Quintarelli Cabernet ages in French oak barriques for 30 months and, in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels for another 30.
The cellar
The Giuseppe Quintarelli company, which has always been a pillar of Valpolicella, has been carrying on tradition and quality since the early 1900s. Respect for nature and strict selection of grapes are the strong point of Quintarelli's labels. Its wines are designed for a very long aging and characterized by great vitality. The winery is located in the province of Verona in the municipality of Negrar. Twelve hectares where the most important varieties of native grapes meet and give life to extraordinary labels. Quintarelli created the Alzero encouraged by its American importer, Robert Chadderdon, a wine that for its richness, extravagance and power is highly sought after like all cult Cabernets.
