    Description

Elio Perrone's Barbera d'Asti Superiore Mongovone is a high-class red wine, which comes from an old vineyard in the municipality of Isola d'Asti, in Mongovone from vines that are more than 80 years old. These vines produce few clusters but with a very high aromatic concentration. Mongovone is a wine with an important evolutionary potential

    Tasting notes

Mongovone by Elio Perrone is presented in the glass of a ruby red with purple reflections. The nose opens with a broad and complex bouquet characterized by fruity notes with light spiciness, and wild notes. The taste is reminiscent of blackberries, blueberries in juice and jam and even cherries. A flowing red, with a savory and satisfying finish and a long persistence. This red goes well with second courses based on game, mushrooms, truffles and aged cheeses.

    Processing

After the harvest, which takes place in October, the grapes are crushed and destemmed. Subsequently the must obtained ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the Mongovone ages in small new French oak barrels for one year.
